AN
UNUSUAL LOG ENTRY FROM CAPTAIN PICARD

CAPTAIN'S
LOG: STARDATE 45258.6
I am becoming increasingly concerned that the inhabitants
of the planet below, who are still in the early stages of
their technological development - capable only of only the
most primitive space travel - are being 'taken over' by
a mysterious cult surrounding the figures of none other
than myself and various members of my crew. Those who have
been 'possessed' by the cult apparently exhibit highly illogical
behaviour and appear to view my crew members with what can
only be called 'religious' awe. How the existence of the
United Federation Of Planets, the Klingon,
Cardassian and Romulan Empires, the space
station Deep Space Nine and the saga of my legendary
forebears Kirk and Spock has come to be known to
the inhabitants of this planet is still uncertain, despite
intensive study by Starfleet Command of the huge
volumes of visual and written material on the subject which
our ship's sensors have picked up from the planet.
However,
strong rumours have been circulating for some time that
this phenomenon may be linked to the mysterious disappearance
some thirty six years ago of a Starfleet captain by the
name of Roddenberry, whose actions were in clear
violation of the Prime Directive of non-interference
with the cultures of developing planets. I am considering
preparing an away team to investigate, but I fear there
is little we can do.
